FROM GLEN
After two long days of travel, with the only sleeping being on an
airplane, we arrived in Kampala, the capital of Uganda at about midnight
on Saturday. It's now 3 AM Sunday morning and I'm not sleeping and
neither is Kampala. Uganda had a big soccer match today and the whole
city is celebrating. A loud band has been playing noxious music
for the last three hours and our windows are open because it's just a little
warm for sleeping with them closed. (How nice!)
We are spending the night here at Namirembe guesthouse, basically a
motel in the town. I am sharing a room with Caleb and judging by his
breathing is now sleeping as I hope the rest of the team is also.
We were met at the airport by Dan Peters the director of the school and two people from Uganda. They will be great to work with!
Tomorrow, actually later today, we will attend church here and then do
some touring as we make our way to the school about two hours away. We
are all anxious to get started on the project there.
Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support which allows us
to be here. You are very much a part of the project even though you are
thousands of miles away.
GLEN's LATE ADDITION - actually, I did get a bit of sleep… Until 5:30 AM when there was a
horrendous loud and long and sad Muslim call to prayer, a good reminder
to pray for those lost without Christ. The call to prayer seemed to be
the queue for everything in the city to wake up… Roosters crowing,
babies crying, birds singing, traffic roaring. Yes the traffic… A good
reminder that life could end anytime… Except that mortal are immortal
here until the work is done! We could not be safer!
