A Note from Gary

Hello and greetings from the Royal International School Uganda. We know our church family and loved ones and friends have been wanting more and more contact from us but you must realize that the options for that from us aren't in place here.  Our wives, children and loved ones come up in conversation often and are loved much from a far.

We have been busy and I will try and give you a summary of our work for Tuesday and Wednesday. The top two projects they wanted done are complete, the cement floors are in place in their assembly hall and all the benches and desks for the students in their classrooms are completed.

Many other projects have been added - some of them small ones, some of them larger ones and we will continue to work at those. I'd like to tell you little bit about the individuals on the Mountain Lake Team:

Glen was very important in getting the generator working so that we can power our portable tools.  We would be lost without them.

Darby led the cement crew hauling cement to complete the floor in the assembly hall.

Kurt and Garrett went from carpentry to bricklayers while Glen, Josiah and Caleb kept busy especially with carpentry. Caleb doing more lead figuring in his chosen profession.  Mike got done whatever was needed: doing carpentry, materials hauling, giving the school all the supplies. They will be so happy to start the year with more supplies than they ever had for supplies to start the year. Mike did unexpected driving duties for the schools travel promotion of their school and it ended with a little more excitement - a flat tire.

I, Gary,  have been doing a lot of final sanding of the projects, otherwise known as splinter detection and removal, some carpentry and photography have filled in my days. In the days here, who has been the biggest bonder with the children? Darby!  We all have had wonderful experiences and conversations with the children and the adults.

And goodbye for now more adventures are ahead for us. God bless
